From Community Listening to Collective Action ONLINE Workshop
Description
How do we move from isolated concerns to organised community power? This workshop introduces the alliance-building work underway across Western Melbourne and Geelong, and explores how community conversations - often called table talks - can help surface shared pressures, build relationships, and shape collective action.
Together, we’ll explore the pathway from relational conversations to listening campaigns and public assemblies, with a focus on practical tools for hosting conversations in your own community and organisation. Participants will experience and reflect on table talks firsthand, and consider how we can grow strong, diverse alliances rooted in local leadership and shared concerns.
This workshop is part of a broader listening campaign building toward a public Listening Assembly in Melbourne’s west in September - bringing together community members, organisations and decision-makers to hear the pressures people are facing, strengthen relationships across the region, and seek commitments to work together for change.
Hosted by Our West, Our Future and Real Deal Geelong.
