CEA teaching literacy workshop

PLEASE NOTE THIS MEETING IS A CEA MEMBER ONLY EVENT.
This first workshop of the CEA Literacy Teacher Program will take place in-person and will be facilitated by Jo Medlin, LLN specialist.
Program Outcomes: This course will provide participants with opportunities to develop skills and knowledge to work with adults who:
Want to develop their literacy skills in stand-alone adult literacy learning contexts.
Are enrolled in other contexts and require literacy support.
For experienced teachers, the course will provide the skills, knowledge and tools to deliver future professional development sessions for colleagues.
The first workshop covers Modules One and Two of the program:
Module 1: Who's in the room
Module 2: Let's read
These together present current research on adult literacy in combination with practical ideas for trainers and assessors teaching literacy and/or supporting people facing literacy challenges who are enrolled in training package units with underpinning foundation skills.
