CEC Sydney Circular Christmas Event

Circular Economy Club Sydney x Reverse Garbage
Hosted at the Inner West Sustainability Hub, Summer Hill

This Christmas, let’s get creative, rethink festive traditions and celebrate a little more sustainably!

Join Circular Economy Club Sydney and Reverse Garbage for a festive evening of creativity, community and circular thinking at the Inner West Sustainability Hub.

Christmas can be a time of excess packaging, unwanted gifts and decorations that are used just once before being thrown away. But what if we could celebrate differently?

We’re bringing the community together to explore how reuse, creativity and a little imagination can make Christmas more circular without compromising on the festive spirit.

Our friends at Reverse Garbage will lead a zero-waste Christmas decoration workshop, using reclaimed and reused materials from Reverse Garbage. You’ll get hands-on, transform materials that might otherwise go to waste, and create something unique to take home for your festive celebrations.

It’s a chance to discover the creative potential of discarded resources, learn new ways to reduce waste, and get inspired to make your own sustainable decorations.

As our final event of the year, this is a chance for the Circular Economy Club Sydney community to come together one last time before the holiday season. We’ll reflect on a year of connections, collaborations and circular ideas, celebrate what we’ve achieved together, and look ahead to what’s next.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes planning an exciting year of events for 2027, so you might even get a few sneak peeks of what’s to come! Come along to connect with familiar faces, meet new members, and wrap up the year with a little creativity, festive cheer, and circular inspiration.

We can’t think of a better way to close out the year than bringing our community together to make something wonderful from materials that deserve a second life.

Whether you’re looking for fresh ideas for a low-waste festive season, love getting creative, or simply want to meet like-minded people in your local community, this event is for you.

Come along to share ideas, learn something new, and discover practical ways to bring the circular economy into your Christmas traditions.

Everyone is welcome! No previous crafting experience is needed; just bring your creativity and festive spirit.

Circular Economy Club Sydney brings together people and organisations working to accelerate the circular economy through collaboration, knowledge-sharing and community events.

Reverse Garbage is a not-for-profit creative reuse centre that rescues reusable materials from businesses and industry, giving them a second life through education, creativity and reuse.

The Inner West Sustainability Hub is a community space dedicated to sustainability, reuse and waste reduction, bringing together organisations and initiatives that help people take practical environmental action.
