Community Urban Forest Celebration and 'Adopt a Tree'
Event description
This spring, a special event is taking root — to celebrate Banyule's urban forest!
Whether you’re a nature lover or looking for a fun day out, bring your friends and family along for an afternoon of exploring family-friendly activities and connecting with nature and your local community.
You'll have a chance to:
Take part in fun nature-based activities for all ages.
Chat with the passionate people nurturing our urban forest and learn how we manage and grow green spaces across Banyule.
Take home a free native plant. We're giving away local tube stock to plant in your garden.
We're also thrilled to launch the Adopt a Tree program — a new initiative for residents, schools and businesses to plant a more established tree (20–25cm pot) on their own property, care for it and help track its growth over time. There are five species to choose from, with collection scheduled for Autumn 2026.
To fuel your fun, we’ll have a coffee cart and a fundraising BBQ for you to purchase your delicious treats.
Save the date and register your interest to stay in the loop.
