This is a rare chance to train in New York City with Shannan Calcutt, a world-renowned artist and teacher. Her workshops have inspired artists from all walks of life to live in the moment, play from the heart, risk being vulnerable, overcome obstacles, and be the kind of collaborator that lifts up everyone in the room. Over the past five years, she has led a number of workshops at Celebration Barn, including Make a Show with Shannan, which has helped over two dozen artists create new shows that have toured throughout North America. About Shannan Calcutt

Shannan Calcutt has played an eclectic range of venues worldwide from Saskatoon's Wash 'n Slosh Pub to the Sydney Opera House. A multi-award-winning funny lady, she has spent the last twenty years making people laugh on the Vegas Strip as Anita Dick in Cirque du Soleil’s Mad Apple, Boozy Skunkton in Spiegelworld’s Atomic Saloon Show, and her beloved clown Izzy in Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity.

Declared “a national treasure” by the CBC, Shannan is sought after globally as Comic Act Designer, Director, Writer and Show Creator. She has designed and directed comic acts for powerhouses Cirque du Soleil, Spiegelworld, and Berlin's Friedrichstadt-Palast. Shannan is the Director of Spiegelworld’s Superfrico and Associate Director of The Hook. 

One of the world's leading educators in Clown and Play, Shannan teaches regularly at Cirque du Soleil, Celebration Barn, and The Clown School. Her popular residency, “Make a Show with Shannan,” fosters a dozen solo shows annually and champions artists' voices worldwide.
