Join us in Celebrating 60 Years of CGS Rowing

The CGS community is warmly invited to celebrate 60 years of rowing at Canberra Grammar School.

Daytime Celebrations – from 10:00am
The day will begin at 10:00am at the CGS Rowing Centre, 12 Alexandrina Drive, Yarralumla. Join us for:

• Naming of the multi-purpose room

  - Alan Carey (1977)

• Boat christening ceremonies

  - Sarah Cook OLY (CGS Head Coach 2020-2021)

  - Caleb Antill OLY (2013)

  - Andrew Wrigley (CGS Rowing Coach 1970's)

  - Tom Westgarth (1999)

  - Wilma McKeown (1959-1985)

• A photo exhibition showcasing six decades of CGS Rowing history.

Morning tea will be provided by the CGS Rowing Association. Alumni will also have the opportunity to take to the water alongside current CGS rowing students. Please RSVP via the link provided if you plan to attend. Alumni may also register interest via this link in participating in a special ‘Reunion Row’ on the lake, also open to family crews.

Dress Code: Guests - Smart casual, Current students - Winter school uniform

Rowing Gala Dinner – from 6:30pm
To conclude the celebrations, we invite all adults (please note: this is a non-student event) to a Rowing Gala Dinner at the Canberra Rex Hotel, 150 Northbourne Avenue, Braddon. Dress Code: Formal, rowing blazers encouraged.
Arrivals from 6:30pm.

The evening includes:

• A three-course dinner

• Drinks available for purchase at the bar

• A Rowing Legends Q&A panel, includes:

  - Malcolm Lamb (CGS Head of Rowing 1975-1980's)

  - John Kelleher (1999)

  - Matthew Barnier (2010)

  - Caleb Antill OLY (2013)

  - Zoe Bond (2021)

• Dance the night away to the DJ stylings.

But the night doesn’t end there—rooftop bars Swan & King and The Howling Moon will be reserved for our guests to keep the celebration going after the formalities conclude.
