Celebrating International Women’s Day 2022
Event description
Celebrating International Women’s Day 2022 discussing Imposter Syndrome in the IT industry
Each year TechWomenNZ get together to celebrate International Women’s Day. This year we look at Imposter Syndrome and how it affects women in the IT industry.
Imposter Syndrome - described by Google as "Impostor syndrome (IS) refers to an internal experience of believing that you are not as competent as others perceive you to be. While this definition is usually narrowly applied to intelligence and achievement, it has links to perfectionism and the social context."
But what is Imposter Syndrome? How did it come about? Do men feel this as much as women in the IT industry? Is it just a normal feeling of adjustment prior to feeling comfort and confidence in a role?
Our panel of speakers will bring their thoughts and experiences forward for discussion including a Q&A session.
