Celebrating Volunteers with Disability
Event description
Join us online for the launch of our Volunteers with Disability Awareness Campaign, showcasing the stories of seven volunteers through short video and written content.Â
Volunteering Tasmania is working on a project to build the capacity of organisations to provide inclusive and accessible volunteering opportunities, and to identify and break down barriers to volunteering for people with disability. Â
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services, the Volunteer Management Activity (VMA) aims to increase opportunities for people to participate in the social and economic life of their broader community through volunteering.Â
Volunteering Tasmania used a co-design approach to work together with key stakeholders to help understand the challenges and needs of people with disability and to support our volunteering sector to provide opportunities which are meaningful, equitable, and accessible.
The launch event will celebrate the results of this co-design work and resources which have been developed to support the Volunteers with Disability Awareness Campaign.
