Date: Saturday 17 May 2024, 9.30am-3pm
Tickets: $30
Celebrate singing by raising your voice with like-minded people at ‘Celebration of Voice – The Music in You’ at Campbelltown Arts Centre (CAC).
Under the expert guidance of facilitators Linda Marr, Roma Jenner and Christina Mimmocchi, you are invited to find your hidden voice, share vocal harmonies, demystify the dots and squiggles on a musical score, and explore your musicality and vocal resonance in a series of three workshops.
Workshops
10-11am: Workshop 1 - Exploration of Rhythm and Harmony with Linda Marr
Find your voice – or rediscover it! Share the joy of learning songs and participating in a choir with a focus on harmony, voice production and rhythm patterns by singing together in a safe and friendly atmosphere. This workshop will also cover vocal warm-ups, voice maintenance and techniques for singing in a group.
11.30am-12.30pm: Workshop 2 - Reading Musical Scores with Roma Jenner
Have you ever wondered how to make sense of all those little dots and squiggles on a music score? During this session, Roma will teach the fundamental knowledge behind the notes, symbols and dynamics used as a ‘language’ by composers of music.
1.30-2.30pm: Workshop 3 - Vocal Resonance and Musicality with Christina Mimmocchi
Singing in a choir is an uplifting and joyful experience that contributes to mental and physical wellbeing. Join us for the opportunity to experiment with the voice that is within you and experience the fulfilment of producing a melodious and resonant sound – even if you didn’t know it was there!
