North East Wiradjuri Company Limited is an Aboriginal owned and operated company limited by
guarantee. Our core business is Caring for Country and culture. We are a conservation land
management and Aboriginal site monitoring and protection company. The board of directors
consists of 5 people.
Our a cultural centre provides cultural activities and a space for learning and
healing through connection to art, people, language, culture, music, spirituality, land and
water.
We have a native plant nursery where we learn about caring for Country, cultural burning, seed
collection, propagation, growing native plants and bushtucker.
Both our cultural centre and nursery function as depots and training hubs. We run regular
training courses to build the capacity of our team.
NEWCo has been working with the RFS and NPWS to build our capacity to put fire on the
ground.
We have solid procedures in place to guide our works and ensure compliance with legislation.
Our insurance policies cover our workers for forestry industry based work and our public liability
covers us for all activities including cultural fire.
