    Event description

On the 9th December 1874, 150 years ago, while on passage from Champion Bay to Fremantle, the Centaur struck Little Island Reef. This became her final resting place, now known as Centaur Reef.

Join the City of Stirling Community History team to commemorate the Centaur, wrecked off North Beach 150 years ago. The commemoration includes an informative presentation on the early voyages of the iron brig Centaur, how she came to rest at Little Island Reef, and how the vessel continues to be remembered on the coastline of North Beach.

Following the presentation, enjoy a tea or coffee, along with informal Centaur conversation.
