The Central Coast Postcard Show invites artists of all backgrounds to participate in an exhibition celebrating postcard-sized artworks. This call for art aims to foster creativity, community engagement, and artistic expression, as artists respond to the theme "Perspectives of Brisbane Water."
Submission Guidelines
- All media welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, ceramics, fibre art, and mixed media.
- Postcard artwork must be less than 150mm x 210mm (A5), with a depth of less than 50mm for 3D artworks.
- Postcard artwork must be received on or before Friday 1 November 2024.
Art Exhibition Details
- Exhibiting in the 2024 Postcard Show is free.
- The "Exhibit a Postcard" ticketing is capped at 300 entries due to the restricted gallery space.
- The plan is for all "early entries" to be hung on Friday 8 November, with the exhibition evolving to include artworks that are developed during the series of workshops.
- The official exhibition Opening / Closing Celebration will be on Saturday 16 November from 1:00 to 4:00pm.
- By submitting an entry to the Postcard Show exhibition, artists agree for their artworks to be photographed and reproduced as required by Central Coast Council and the organisers of the Postcard Show.
Postcard Fair Details
- The 2024 Postcard Fair will take place on Sunday 17 November from 10:00am to 3:00pm. This will provide the opportunity for a direct exchange between prospective buyers and artists (or the artist's representative - friend, relative, colleague, etc).
- The Central Coast Postcard Show will not charge a commission for artworks sold.
- The Central Coast Postcard Show will not handle any sales of artworks in the 2024 Postcard Fair. This is reflected by the free entry and no commission.
- Pricing of postcard artworks sold at the 2024 Postcard Fair will be at the artist's discretion.
How to Submit
1. After you have completed your postcard-sized artwork, add the "Exhibit a Postcard" event to your Humanitix order, and complete the checkout questions. Your answers to these questions will become your entry form for the Central Coast Postcard Show Art Exhibition.
2. After completing the Humanitix checkout process, you will need to print a copy of your Humanitix "Exhibit a Postcard" ticket. Please note: Depending on the answer you select for the question, "Will your artwork be on sale at the Postcard Fair?", there will be blank spaces on your "Exhibit a Postcard" ticket that you will need to complete after printing. These blank spaces will include the sale price for your postcard, and if relevant, permission for someone else to sell or collect your postcard artwork on your behalf.
3. Deliver or post your postcard artwork, together with your Humanitix "Exhibit a Postcard" ticket, ensuring that it arrives on or before Friday 1 November 2024:
