We’re thrilled to have guest speaker from New Zealand, Sophie Rebbeck, who will share valuable insights from "across the ditch" on agtech and innovation, alongside local start-up founders with connections to the region. This event is part of the CQ Agtech Showcase Tour, taking place across Central Queensland from February 14 to 16, 2025, and serves as a prelude to the evokeAG 2025 conference in Brisbane later that month.

About Sophie Rebbeck
Agritech Consultant | Helping agritech start-ups and scale-ups thrive | Facilitating connections and collaborations across the agritech ecosystem.
Sophie grew up on a small farm in Canterbury, New Zealand, where her deep connection to the land sparked a lifelong passion for agriculture. She holds a degree in Horticultural Science from Lincoln University and brings over 20 years of experience in the agrifood sector. Sophie began her career at Crop & Food Research (now Plant & Food Research), where she managed cereal winter nurseries for Northern Hemisphere plant breeders and led the CropSeed Business Unit. She later worked with some of New Zealand's top sheep and beef farmers during her time at ANZCO Foods.
In the past decade, Sophie has focused on agrifood tech, collaborating with industry stakeholders and end users to address critical challenges. Her roles at Lincoln Agritech, Callaghan Innovation and AgriFutures growAG. involved bridging the gap between industry needs and research, ensuring that technological solutions are aligned with market demands. She has also volunteered her time to organisations such as Precision Ag Association NZ and AgriTechNZ, building strong networks across the agritech ecosystem. Three years ago Sophie started Rebbeck Consulting, contracting to businesses in agrifood tech sector. Known as a "super connector," Sophie actively fosters collaboration across the ecosystem between New Zealand and Australia.
