Data Center Ordinance Template Overview Webinar

This webinar will walk participants through the newly created data center ordinance template and discuss how communities can adapt it to their own needs. We hope this will be a helpful opportunity to walk through our process of developing this material, discuss appropriate ways to modify it to your local needs, and hear from those of you working through these issues in your own communities.

We will leave plenty of time for questions, which can be submitted in advance during registration or asked "live" during the webinar.

A “Thank You”

To the planning staff and directors who participated in our Regional Data Center Working Group and/or provided resources and feedback, we especially want to thank you for the time and input you've shared throughout this process.

This topic continues to change regularly, and your willingness to share your perspectives and experiences has helped ensure we stay as up to date and realistic as possible.

The CPRC Data Center Ordinance Template and a Community Use Guide helps local governments review zoning considerations for data centers and provides best practices for either adding data centers as a new use or updating existing definitions and standards, all while staying compliant with state regulations and local authority.

This template is not intended to be adopted as-is. Instead, communities can use it to decide the appropriate path forward, with vetted zoning language and guidance.
