Central Queensland Housing, Health and Homelessness Forum
Event description
Homelessness is both a housing and health issue. In Central Queensland (CQ), complex and interrelated challenges are faced daily by people experiencing or at risk of homelessness—including mental health conditions, chronic illness, family violence, substance use, poverty, and housing instability. Addressing these challenges requires integrated responses, shared knowledge, and a united cross-sector commitment.
The forum brings together frontline services, government agencies, community leaders, researchers, and people with lived experience to explore how we can better work together to prevent and end homelessness in Central Queensland.
The Forum will:
- Strengthen cross-sector collaboration between housing, health, homelessness, mental health, AOD, and support services.
- Share data, research and practice insights to build a clearer picture of regional need and opportunity.
- Foster collective action through the co-design of locally relevant, integrated responses to homelessness and housing insecurity.
