Description

PROGRAZE™ builds practical skills in pasture assessment, livestock assessment and plant identification to support better grazing decisions and farm productivity.

Event details:

Join Central Tablelands Local Land Services for PROGRAZE®, a practical, hands-on grazing management course designed to help beef cattle and sheep producers improve productivity, profitability and pasture management outcomes.

Delivered on local farms, PROGRAZE® provides participants with the skills and confidence to assess pastures, livestock and feed availability, enabling better grazing decisions throughout the year. The course focuses on understanding the interaction between pasture and livestock, helping producers optimise pasture utilisation, improve groundcover, manage weeds and maintain livestock performance, even during challenging seasonal conditions.

This well-respected course combines theory with practical in-paddock learning and is suitable for producers looking to strengthen their grazing management knowledge and decision-making skills.

Course details:

  • 8 half-day workshops delivered on-farm

  • Workshops generally held every 4 weeks on Wednesdays

  • Runs from February 2027 to September 2027, allowing participants to observe and learn through seasonal variations

  • Practical, hands-on learning with experienced facilitators and fellow producers

  • Opportunity to apply skills directly to your own farming enterprise

Cost:

  • $400 + GST ($440 total) per farming enterprise

  • An unlimited number of people from the same farming enterprise can attend.

  • The course fee includes:

    • Two feed test samples

    • PROGRAZE® hard-copy participant manual

    • Access to all eight workshops

Whether you're new to grazing management or looking to refine your existing skills, PROGRAZE® offers a proven framework to help you make more informed grazing decisions and build a more resilient farming enterprise.

Additional details:

  • Please note: Subject to sufficient participant numbers, we will confirm course commencement and contact registered participants towards the end of the year. Payment will not be required until December 2026.

  • Even if you are not located in the Yeoval area, we encourage you to register your interest to help us identify demand and target future PROGRAZE® courses and grazing management workshops in other locations across the region.
