Event description

During the Centred Self Program we explore….
Effortless Meditation
  • Mastery over the Self-Directed (unguided) Effortless Meditation technique.
  • How the deep psychological effects (the inner mechanics) of Effortless Meditation take place.
  • What the expected short-term and long-term effects and benefits are of Effortless Meditation.
  • How to integrate a regular meditation practice into your routine post program.

The Socially-Emotionally Conditioned Mindset
  • An in-depth look at the subconscious mind, its contents and how it operates in shaping our mindsets.
  • How our conscious and subconscious minds respond to attempts to influence us by our parents, family and various authority figures and in our peer groups, and our ability or inability to fulfil Maslow’s three basic psychological needs – security, relationship/belongingness, self-esteem.
  • Identifying the forces that maintain and reinforce our socially-emotionally conditioned mindset, even when the results that issue from the mindset are not those we desire.
  • How Effortless Meditation (and other techniques) can dissolve the forces that hold the self-limiting aspects of our conditioned self mindset intact.

The Defending-Avoiding Treadmill Cycle
  • The role of both pleasant and unpleasant emotions in shaping our socially-emotionally conditioned mindset.
  • How we learned to respond to unpleasant, uncomfortable emotions, and how we learned to react to the people and events that triggered these emotions.
  • An exploration into the process by which the subconscious mind projects on to others what we subjectively see as the “causes” of our uncomfortable, unpleasant emotions.
  • Identifying the cyclical structure of emotional reactions and self-limiting behaviour that emerges from this process of projection.
  • Through Effortless Meditation (and other techniques), learning a method to systematically access, “objectify” and dissolve the internal subjective mental/emotional belief systems that maintain and reinforce these habits of generalisation, projection and behavioural reactions.
Higher Adult Development Levels
  • Understanding the three psychological stages of developmental that we have the potential to grow through as adults: The "Individuated Self” level, the “Transpersonal Self” level, and the “Unitive Self” level.
  • Identifying the specific types of internal changes in our consciousness, motivation and character structure, and external changes in our behaviour and the outcomes we seek, that occur when we are growing through each adult developmental level.
  • Discovering how each adult developmental level allows us to express ourselves more fully.
