Cereal Music Talks Coffee Catch Ups #1 - Future of Touring

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The music industry is suffering greatly because of the pandemic - bands, venues, promoters, agents, roadies and fans - we all fell short. How will touring look like in the post-COVID world? What can we do as individuals to make it better (and/or) easier? And how it differs from the situation in Australia & New Zealand, Mexico or the Balkans?

The panel will be moderated by Lucija Ivšić, founder of Cereal Booking, where she will be joined by some of the most active touring band representatives:

Andrew Wilson (Die! Die! Die!, New Zealand)

Die! Die! Die! (sometimes styled Die!Die!Die!) is a three-piece New Zealand noise pop/punk/post-punk band. Formed in late 2003, they have released six albums, all backed with extensive international touring.

JP (Octopoulpe, Mexico)

Born in a fish tank in Seoul, Octopoulpe is a half-naked creature playing tentacular music, from Math-rock to punk-hardcore. Thanks to his many tentacles, he can play drums and control other instruments and video-projections at the same time, allowing him to play with his digital self, as well as with many other guests.
Since 2015, Octopoulpe performed over 400 shows across the world but he is already way over 1000 shows with various musical projects (Digou, Octopoulpe, Escarres and MyManMike).

Sara Ercegovic (Žen, Croatia)

The four-piece audio visual band Žen /zhen/ was formed in 2009. in Zagreb, Croatia; and from then till now we are unintentionally but consistently avoiding to fit in specific genre box, so description of our music is endless: kraut math post synth psy indie rock. Sara has been a part of the band since the very beginning and together with Eva the main culprit for band's endless tours through Europe.
