5 week course ✨️ Ceremonial cacao set making ✨️
Event description
Come and hang out with local facilitators, ground into mumma earth, sip on cacao and create your own personalised ceremonial cacao set!
This is an engaging introductory 5 week block of workshops to experience working with high quality clay.
This 5 week progressive workshop will guide you through all the essential hand building techniques needed to create your own style of cups, add handles should you wish, personalise with texture, words of wisdom or prints and finish them with a selection of glaze colours.
Fri 2nd May 7-9pm Week 1: We will learn the pinch pot method, coil method for height and how to add handles
Fri 9th May 7-9pm Week 2: We will continue previous methods to keep making your cups (you can also begin adding texture or finishing details to pieces created the previous week)
Fri 16th May 7-9pm Week 3: We will learn the slab method to form a tray or you can keep making more cups (you can also finish up any details on previous weeks work)
Fri 23rd May 7-9pm Week 4: last week of clay work so you can either keep working on your tray or make a few more cups.
Fri 30th May 7-9pm Week 5: Glazing week! We will paint all our pieces - there will be approx 6 glazing colours to choose from.
What will your pieces look like? They will be 'perfectly imperfect' sets handmade by you!
We will also learn about clay safety which is why we ask that no food is brought into the studio.
Age: 18+
Attendees required: minimum of 6 participants and maximum of 12
What to bring: Any beverage you wish and most importantly your creative vibes.
Once your pieces are all complete and glazed after week 5, they will need their final glaze firing. They will be ready for collection in approx 1-2 weeks time (postage is an additional charge).
