Cessnock LGA Native Plant Giveaway

Join us for the Cessnock LGA Native Plant Giveaway, a fantastic event happening in person in Cessnock and Kurri Kurri on 22 November, 2025 brought to you by Cessnock City Council!

The giveaway will be available on a first come first served basis for 300 residents who sign up here via Humanitix and allows for each household to claim 6 native plants for free. Please note that there is only 1 x giveaway ticket available per household.

Each ticket holder will receive a pack of 6 which will include the following native tube stocks: 

• 2 x Groundcover (1 x Carpobrotus (Pig Face) and 1 x Myoporum (Creeping Boobialla)

• 2 x Grasses (2 x Lomandra (Spiny-head Mat-rush))

• 2 x Small Shrubs (1 x Bottlebrush species Callistemon viminalis and 1 x Westringia (Coastal Rosemary)

Please note that the package is set and that no substitutions are available. You must bring your ticket with you either via phone or printed - unfortunately there is no pickup without showing your ticket. 

Follow the steps below to take part in this green initiative:

• Click on the green "get tickets" button at the top right of this page

• Submit your name and your address within the Cessnock LGA

• Choose your pick up location of Cessnock - Mount View Basin Park (pick up available between 8 am - 10 am) or Kurri Kurri - Biralee Park, Heddon Street (pick up available between 12 pm - 2 pm)

• A ticket will be sent to the email address you have entered. (A further email with the specific location information and event details will be sent closer to the event.)

• On the day make sure to bring a copy of the ticket with you to the pick up location (either on your phone or a printed copy).

• Please be aware the intended recipients of the Native Plant Giveaway are Cessnock residents only and to manage this process fairly, identification with your address may be sighted by Council staff on the day.

Please note that ticket holders are only able to pick up plants during the event on 22 November, 2025. Unfortunately, plants will not be available for pick up after the event day.
