Crested Butte-based Floodgate Operators know a thing or two about getting the party started—and Halloween is no exception. Founded in 2018, Floodgate Operators have grown from a dive bar BOO-grass act to a force of original music and showmanship, earning praise throughout the Rocky Mountain West.

Come in costume, bring your best moves, and get ready to dance the night away at the Center for the Arts with a Halloween party that’s sure to be one for the books.

The band has released three records, Drought Driven Days (2020), Flood the World (2022), and After the Flood (2025) with each effort building on the collaborative nature of the band. The latest effort, After the Flood, highlights the growth in storytelling and songwriting prowess. From ‘Montana Drive-by’ – a fast paced number draped in traditional bluegrass about an unfortunate bear-mace incident on the road, to ‘I Saw the Bird First (Not You), an 8-minute jam-epic that rounds off the record, one thing is certain – Floodgate Operators can take you on a cross country, genre blending journey.
