    Event description

    Preparing to become the Chair

One of the actions in the National Strategy for Community Governance was creating bite-sized on-line training sessions for new and aspiring Chairs. Chairing the Board is a series of four videos that aims to help existing Chairs improve their leadership competencies or assist aspiring Chairs to be well prepared for the role.

The content for these videos was created with the input of more than thirty experienced board chairs, based on their experiences about what they wished they knew when they got their first chair role.

Chairing the Board will be launched in an online event on Wednesday 14 April at 12.00 pm. The event will be hosted by the incumbent Programme Manager for the National Strategy for Community Governance, Dr Jo Cribb and will introduce the new Programme Manager, Rose Hiha-Agnew.

This event is your chance to sample some of the content of the video toolkit and find out how to access these exciting new FREE resources through our hosting partners.

Learn from a line-up of highly experienced Chairs of community and for-purpose organisations as they present the information you need to know as a new Chair. There will also be time for attendees to ask the panel their own questions about Chairing the Board though our live chat.
