    Challenger Beach - Planting Day & Aboriginal Cultural Walk

    We're planting for the future, and we need your help! 

    Supported by Alcoa, join Perth NRM and the Naval Base Shacks to plant native seedlings to protect the dunes. After the planting, Olman Walley from Boorloo Aboriginal Cultural Experiences will be talking people on a walk along the beach, sharing stories and his knowledge of Aboriginal culture in Derbal Naara (Cockburn Sound). 

    • Schedule
      • 9:30am: Introduction with a safety briefing. 
      • 9:45-11:15am: Planting
      • 11:15-11:30am: Morning Tea
      • 11:30-12:30pm: Aboriginal Cultural Walk 
    • Where to meet? Challenger Beach, Along Sutton Road, at Noot Boat Ramp. 
    • What to bring? Please bring enclosed shoes, long pants, hat, water bottle and sun protection. Wet weather gear advised if rain is forecasted. We will supply gloves and planting equipment. 
    • Morning Tea? Light refreshments will be available. 
    • Registration: Please register if we need to notify you of event date change. This event is free, all ages welcome. Children under 16 are required to be supervised by a parent or guardian. If you do see this event last minute, please just come along. 

    This event is made possible through the amazing volunteers of the Naval Base "Shacks" Holiday Association, the City of Kwinana and Perth NRM's Challenger Beach Coastal Rehabilitation Project funded by Alcoa Australia.
