Dr Aiden M. A. Thornton: Complexity Leadership Expert and ACMP ANZ Board Member
Dr Aiden M. A. Thornton brings a powerful blend of academic depth, consulting experience and practical insight into the realities of leading change in complex environments. With an interdisciplinary PhD in leadership, complexity and cognition, he specialises in helping leaders and change professionals understand organisations as complex adaptive systems, where change emerges through dynamic interactions rather than simple linear plans. Aiden has more than 25 years of international consulting experience across Australia, Asia and Europe. His work spans leadership development, change management, organisational culture and organisational design. She currently serves as Group Executive: Investments and Chief Risk Officer at Purple Group Limited, a JSE listed company, where she oversees investments, governance, risk, compliance, legal and sustainability. Thabile Nyaba is a respected risk leader with deep experience in building risk intelligent organisations. She has led teams in organisations recognised as industry leaders in risk management and is known for her authentic, passionate approach to transforming teams and unlocking the potential of those she leads. Thabile currently serves as Chief Risk and Sustainability Officer at Old Mutual Insure. She is also the Past President of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa and a recipient of the IRMSA Honorary Life Membership Award. As both a local and global speaker on women’s leadership, sustainability and risk management, Thabile brings a compelling perspective on how leaders can navigate disruption with confidence, adaptability and purpose.
