Description

Reimagine the future of Monash after dark

What would make the places where you live, study, work and socialise more vibrant, connected and exciting after 5pm?

Join Monash ImpactHack, a one-day innovation challenge delivered in collaboration with the City of Monash, where students from across Monash University will work together to develop bold, startup-style solutions to help revitalise the local night-time economy.

For many Monash students, Clayton and it's surrounding suburbs are more than just a location - it’s the community where you attend classes, catch public transport, meet friends, work part-time, grab dinner, study late, and spend your weekends. This challenge is an opportunity to shape the future of the places that are already part of your everyday life.

As our local centres evolve, they face new challenges: changing work patterns, rising costs, safety and accessibility concerns, social isolation, and the need to create welcoming spaces where people want to spend time after dark. The City of Monash is inviting students to bring fresh ideas that could help make Clayton and the broader Monash area a more connected, creative, inclusive and thriving destination in the evenings.

Open to students from all faculties, backgrounds and levels of experience, ImpactHack brings together students from all faculties to form teams to co-create solutions to the world’s most pressing social and environmental issues.

Tickets to ImpactHacks are a registration but not a guarantee of entry. Only the first 100 people will be allowed into the room for OH&S reasons, so we advise arriving by 9.30am to secure yourself a space.
