Event description

Changing the Brief 'Live'

As the architects of demand the marketing and advertising industry can play a decisive role in helping society shift away from our current high-carbon lifestyles, towards low carbon alternatives. Every ad campaign is an opportunity to normalise the lifestyles, the products, the services and the attitudes we all know we will need to adopt to achieve sustainable living. #CTB is designed to equip marketers and agencies with the skills to do so.

Originally created by London's The Purpose Disruptors #CTB exists as an online learning platform, consisting of 6 x 90 minute sessions, each one part video learning presented by an expert in their field / part workshop.

For this unique ‘Live’ version of #CTB created especially for Sydney Climate Action Week we’ve tailored this to a dynamic in-person version to give attendees a taste of the key principles but also the opportunity to leave with some key learnings to take back to their companies.

The 90 minutes will consist of 3 ‘chapters’, led by local expert leaders:

  1. Caring for Country: How we can learn from the past to progress the future – Peter Kirk, Indigenous creator / connector @ Campfire X
  2. How to change the brief - Leif Stromnes, Managing Director Strategy and Innovation, DDB Group Australia
  3. How to avoid Greenwashing (and green hushing) – John Pabon, Australia's leading voice on greenwashing, sustainability author, U.N. Advisor

Each ‘chapter’ will consist of 15 minutes of inspiration and learning followed by short breakouts for attendees to discuss and workshop application for their business.

This event is specifically aimed at the Marketing, Creative, Media, Advertising, and PR Industry. It's a CAW 'must' for all communications professionals in the sector who aspire to harness the power of advertising and creativity as a force for progressive climate action.
