Join NCJWA and NIF Australia for aan interactive workshop empowering women’s voices in our community. We will have the opportunity to learn with leading American and Israeli voices on a variety of topics to help women feel more confident sharing their opinions whether in writing, on a community board or around the Shabbat dinner table.

No prerequisites required but you are encouraged to come with questions and an open mind.


$18 per session or free for under 25s/low income

    CHANGING THE POLITICAL AGENDA
    with Women Wage Peace activists Yasmin Rubin-Cooper and Avital Brown

    Hear from two activists from Israeli-based Women Wage Peace to learn about their grassroots organisation campaigning for Israeli and Palestinian women to have a place at the negotiating table.


    Yasmin Rubin Cooper is a certified social-organisational psychologist and has extensive experience in social change, strategic planning and promoting partnerships. Yasmin serves at Sheatufim as the Director of a Collective Impact initiative working to reduce gender based domestic violence. In previous positions Yasmin served as professional manager in Shatil (New Israel fund) - an infrastructure organisation for civil society - and as human resource manager in the School for Leadership Development in the IDF. Yasmin led numerous projects,  developing knowledge, tools and methodologies for creating social impact, and has broad experience in consulting, training and capacity building for managers, teams and partnerships in the public and social sectors.

    As a peace and feminist activist Yasmin is a member of Women Wage Peace movement, and was a member of the board and the steering commeettee of the movement.  Yasmin holds a first degree in Psychology, and a second degree in social-industrial psychology.

    Avital Brown is the co-founder of PosiTeam Consulting and Training, established to assist high tech organisations to cope with management challenges. She works with Palestinian high tech companies to help them boost their capacity and reach the Israeli and global markets. Brown served as a director of training in a high-tech company in Canada, and was the Head of Hebrew Department at Emanuel School, Sydneyl.

    Brown has also been an active member of Women Wage Peace (WWP) since its early days and is presently a member of WWP steering committee. Her two sons and son-in-law served in the front line in Tzuk Eitan during the 2014 Gaza War, which motivated her to join WWP with the utmost determination and faith that peace is possible. Avital holds a first degree in T.E.S.L, and a second degree in Educational Technology.
