Chargers R4s Tournament - Adult Rec Volleyball
Description
This inaugural recreational volleyball tournament (for adults) is hosted by the Camosun Chargers Men's Volleyball program in the Chargers competition gym at the Pacific Institute of Sport Education.
Format:
Two divisions:
Open/AA — for players who typically compete in A/B pool in local leagues
BB/B — for players who typically compete in B/C/D pool
8 teams per division, split into pools of 4
Teams of 4: 2 women + 2 men per team
Pool play: 1 set to 25 against each team in your pool
All teams advance to playoffs
Playoffs: full best of 3 matches
Rules (Reverse Coed 4s)
2 women and 2 men on court at all times
Men must attack from behind the 10-ft line
Men may only block against male attackers (no blocking female attackers)
Soft blocks are permitted but count as a contact (one of the team's three hits)
No setting the ball directly over the net
All standard indoor volleyball rules apply (net contact, lifts/carries, etc.)
Roll shots, cobras, and knuckling are legal; open-hand tipping is a fault
Proceeds from this tournament will go to the Chargers Development Fund at the Camosun Foundation
