Furry and Flashy - are these Australia's most charismatic bees?
Event description
Leneva Castle Creek Landcare are excited to host local educator Karen Retra for a fascinating presentation on two important native pollinator insects. While honeybees might get all the press, blue-banded and teddy bear bees are steadily gaining notability. With their distinctive looks and fascinating solitary lifestyles, these bees showcase the incredible diversity of Australia's native bees and play vital roles in our local environment.
Karen's presentation will be followed by a Leneva Castle Creek Landcare project planning session for 2025. Come along and get involved in determining which projects will be the priority for Landcare moving forward and hear from Facilitator, Jo Vincent, from Wodonga Urban Landcare Network about what funding opportunities may be available.Â
If you haven't already joined the group you can join on the night!
Light refreshments will be served.
