Event description

CHCH: Morning People’s End of year party feat. Monika

For our last party in the year in Ōtautahi, we’re fizzing to present drum and bass maestro Monika!

Originally from the village of Olney, Buckinghamshire (UK), and now based in Ōtautahi, Maxwell Monika is making waves in the global drum and bass scene. With a growing discography of notable releases on labels including Shogun Audio, Spearhead Records, and Fokuz Recordings, Monika’s music spans the spectrum from melodic, liquid vibes to heavier, rhythm-driven steppers - seamlessly blending soulful harmonies with electrifying dancefloor energy.

Beyond producing and DJing, Monika is also a mover and shaker in the local drum and bass community. As a key figure in the promotion crew Liquid Exchange (LX), he has helped bring international and local talent to the city, hosting artists including BCee, Sustance, and Collette Warren.

Monika also co-hosts the weekly LX radio show on RDU 98.5FM with his friend Andy Zero, spotlighting the freshest tracks from across the drum and bass spectrum.

Don’t miss Monika, playing his Morning People debut, and your last chance to get dancey before work in the 03 for 2024.

In usual Morning People fashion, dancefloor pressure will be served alongside complimentary Altezano Brothers coffee, All Good bananas and drinks from Karma.

Morning People ÅŒtautahi is supported by the lovelies at RDU, ka rawe!

Alcohol free, dress to sweat.
