Cherry Festival

Wednesday 30th November to Tuesday 7th December 2022

Leave all your worries behind as we travel through quaint country towns boasting a smorgasbord of delicious fruits, wine, fudge, cheeses, coffee, and history.

Known as the Cherry capital of Australia, Young is the heart of the Hilltop Region, and this tour will see you enjoying the beginning of the season.

Day One: Wednesday 30th November

Pick-ups will commence by 11:00, Calling into the Buladelah Bowling Club for lunch we then make our way to our accommodation Macquarie 4 Star, Argenton. Dinner this evening is in the adjoining Club Macquarie at 18:00.

Includes: Door to door pickup (most areas), Port Bus morning tea, lunch, dinner & accommodation.

Day Two: Thursday 1st December

After breakfast at 07:00, we start our day by visiting Maitland Gaol. Construction started in 1844 and the prisoners first entered the gaol in 1848. Enjoy some free time at the Pokolbin Village Estate. Enjoy the village atmosphere while browsing the many quaint shops and grab a bite to eat before we meet out horse n carriage for our Harvest the Hunter Half Day Horse & Carriage Tour. In the three hours you will have tastings at the Garden Cellars, Tamburlaine Organic Wines and Olives, olive products and other fine condiments at The Pokolbin Olive Centre. Our next venue is still TBC. Tonight, we dine in the Hunter Valley Gardens and spend the evening in the Hunter Valley Christmas Lights. The Christmas Lights spectacular spans over the 14 hectares of the garden.

Day Three: Friday 2nd December

After breakfast, we check out and depart by 08:30. Today our first visit is at Tocal Homestead. The original 1845 homestead was designed by William Moir. The property is now owned by the C. B. Alexander Foundation. Moving on to Camel Milk for a visit, tour, and lunch. An experience like no other, get up close and personal to a herd of wild camels that were saved from slaughter! Comfort stop and a lite snack before arriving at the Cowra Motor Inn around 20:30. Dinner first then off to bed.

Day Four: Saturday 3rd December

Festival Day! Enjoy a full day of free time at the 2022 Cherry Festival. When the festival program is available, we will send you a copy so you can plan your day.

Day Five: Sunday 4th December

Breakfast and then it’s time to check out around 06:30 as we head to the Taronga Western Plains Zoo. Our guide will join us onboard for a tour, morning tea and some free time. Onto the Dubbo Regional Botanic Gardens for a visit and lunch. This afternoon we will participate in the Royal Flying Doctor Service Visitor Experience. Home tonight is at the Cattlemans Country Motor Inn along with dinner in the onsite restaurant.

Includes: Breakfast; entry to the zoo, guide, and morning tea; lunch, visitor experience; dinner, and accommodation.

Day Six: Monday 5th December

After breakfast, we will check out and head off by 07:30. First up is a tour of the Sandstone Caves, Coonabarabran. Make sure you pack your cosies you don’t want to miss out on relaxing in the Pilliga Hot Bore Baths, Narrabri. Comfort stop before making home at the Best Western Ascot Lodge Motor Inn, Goondiwindi.

Includes: Breakfast, entry and caves tour, dinner, and accommodation.

Day Seven: Tuesday 6th December

Breakfast and checkout by 08:30. Our local guide boards the coach for our Goondiwindi Cotton Tour. Heading off by 12:30, lunch today is at the Graman Bar & Grill, Graman. Home this evening is at the Bushranger Motor Inn, Uralla. Dinner at the Top Pub is only a short 500 metre walk.

Day Eight: Wednesday 7th December

Breakfast and then it’s our final check out at 09:00. We check out the McCrossin Mill Museum for a tour and morning tea. Then it gets real we start heading home! Lunch today is at the picturesque Mt Seaview Retreat. Drop offs should commence from the Donut around 15:30.
