Event description

Join multi instrumentalists and singer songwriters Jhana Allan and Emmy Ryan for an intimate and cosy afternoon of original tunes filled to bursting with all the feels. Both artists will play one set each, then they invite you to join in a non-specified genre jam afterwards, so bring your instruments!!Emmy Ryan
Emmy Ryan's music carries the weight of solitude and the warmth of solidarity. With her soul-stirring vocals, thoughtful guitar and mandolin playing, and lyrics that land straight in the heart, Emmy's songs feel like desert winds - gentle one moment, powerful the next.Emmy’s debut EP I Ain’t So Blue, recorded with Nick Henderson of award winning Australian chamber folk ensemble The Good Behaviours, was released in September 2024 to acclaim and airplay from community and commercial radio around the country. In March 2025, the EP's lead single The End of the World was named a semi-finalist in the celebrated International Songwriting Competition. The EP was the feature album on 8CCC Radio in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek in its release week, and has been featured on ABC Radio.Jhana Allan
Uralla-based singer-songwriter Jhana Allan released her sophomore album, titled ‘Fake Paradise’ in 2024. Themes of desire, addiction, and awareness of the artist’s own need for prioritising rest, forms the backdrop of this shape-shifting release.Drawing inspiration from musicians like The Weather Station, Sam Amidon, PJ Harvey, and Lucie Thorne, the album moves through folk, jazz, and rock soundscapes, retaining a throughline of Allan’s visceral and emotive writing and singing, and grounded by her layered vocal presence.
