CASWA Child Safe Project Workshop: Awareness Raising of the National Principles for a Child Safe Organisation through a Cultural Perspective
This session focuses on developing understanding of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations through a culturally grounded lens.
Designed for frontline staff and practitioners, the workshop explores how child safety is understood and applied in practice, with a strong emphasis on the role of culture, relationships, communication and community connection in creating environments where children and young people feel safe, supported and heard.
Through discussion and reflection, participants will:
Build practical understanding of the National Principles in an ACCO and community context
Explore how cultural safety and child safety work together in practice
Reflect on how child safety shows up in everyday interactions and service delivery
Strengthen confidence in responding to concerns and supporting children to feel heard
This is a strengths-based and interactive session that values shared learning, lived experience and community perspectives.
