Children & Young People: How to Guide and Nurture Them to Full Humanness
Description
Change Your World Events Ltd is delighted to host Avigail Abarbanal from Fully Human Psychotherapy to deliver a half-day workshop for anyone who spends time with children and young people - parents, teachers, grandparents, mental health professionals, carers, and anyone else who impacts on and shapes a young life.
About The Event
Think of the last time you told someone how you felt and they tried to fix it, minimise it or talk you out of it. It probably didn’t help, even if they meant well.
Now imagine that’s the kind of response children and young people receive on a regular basis.
This half day workshop is for anyone who spends time with children and young people in any capacity - parents, teachers, grandparents, carers, mental health professionals, social workers and medical staff.
You’ll learn what a child’s developing brain actually needs, and it isn’t a perfect adult, why many well-meaning responses to children and young people’s feelings can miss the mark, and what to do instead.
A taster of what to expect
If you would like to get a flavour of what to expect, you can view a podcast with Avigail covering part of the topic here: https://avigail.substack.com/p/podcast-12-children-and-young-people
BACP Accredited Psychotherapist Avigail Abarbanal draws on Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) and her own Internal Validation Approach, developed and refined over 27 years of clinical practice with individuals, couples, families and groups.

Participation in exercises is entirely voluntary. There will be no pressure to share, and confidentiality will be respected.
You don’t need any prior knowledge, just a curious mind and an interest in learning.
