Children’s Forums: Exploring the Digital World through Children’s Perspectives
Event description
ARE YOU A CHILD AGED 3-8 YEARS?
You are invited to participate in a Digital Child research project.
The project
This project is led by Distinguished Professor Susan Danby and is funded by the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for the Digital Child.
The aim
The aim of the study is to understand how children understand digital technologies and how they envisage future research in the digital space. For this reason, we would love to have your participation.
Who can participate?
Children aged 3-8 years. Parents/ caregivers/guardians will accompany their children during their participation in this study.
What does participation involve?
Participation will involve visiting the Children’s Technology Centre, located in Room E-430 (E Block) on QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus (https://www.qut.edu.au/about/campuses-and-facilities/maps-and-getting-here#kgaccord). During the visit, children will be asked to engage in various short activities. The activities will include drawings with various materials, paper cards and digital cards that will prompt conversations about digital technologies, and an opportunity to explore AI with a researcher using Adobe Firefly generative AI.
As a token of appreciation for the children’s contribution to the study, children will be offered a Lego box and a certificate of participation.
If you need further information about the study, please contact us directly to i.silva@qut.edu.au. A member of the research team will then contact you.
