Children's storytelling

Join us every Saturday at 10.30am for FREE children's storytelling in our cosy children's section in the basement.

No need to book, just turn up.

The sessions are aimed at children up to the age of eight. The storytellers – local teachers and keen readers – read from some of the latest children’s books together with old classics.

With some space to leave buggies, together with baby-changing facilities, the bookshop is the perfect place to take young children on a Saturday morning for a free activity. For post-storytelling refreshment, the upstairs Bookroom Café has babyccinos.

Parents are welcome to stay with babies and young children or leave older children while they browse the shop. There’s no need to book, just drop in. And it's free.
