Chip & Sip: Across the Ditch

Four Proper Crisps. Four wines. One very serious investigation into chips and wine.

Chip & Sip is back, and this time we’re heading across the ditch!

We’ve taken four flavours from New Zealand’s Proper Crisps and paired each with a wine chosen to bring out the best, weirdest and most delicious bits of every chip.

You’ll taste your way through four Proper Crisps and four matched wines, from garden herbs and Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc to chilli with off-dry Riesling, rosemary and thyme with Chardonnay, and a gloriously punchy dill pickle and apple cider vinegar crisp with fizz.

We’ll talk through why each pairing works, what changes when you taste the wine and chip together, and settle the important question: can a potato chip genuinely make a wine taste better?

No wine knowledge required. Just an appreciation for a good crunch and an excellent sip.
