Description
Make something different as a group every week to improve green spaces around the city
Every Wednesday at the Edinburgh Tool Library Leith Community Workshop
Two Time Slots to choose from - one in the morning and one in the afternoon
Book or drop in - Booking is recommended. Drop-ins are welcome, but we cannot guarantee a space without a booking.
Make useful things including planters, benches, picnic tables, bird boxes or little free libraries
Learn woodworking skills from skilled and experienced professional tutors
Feel good about doing something for your community! Every week we'll be supporting a different community organisation.
Schedule
- 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Morning Session
- 12:45 pm - 1:30 pm
Lunch Time
We will provide a light lunch
- 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Afternoon Session
What to Expect
You will be working as part of a group on one object
There will be one tutor and one volunteer to support the group
All materials, PPE and tools will be provided
Please wear closed toe, flat, non slip shoes
We have a quiet space if you need some time out from the workshop

We expect all members, volunteers and staff to follow and uphold our shared Code of Conduct.

- How accessible is the workshop
We are committed to continually improving the accessibility of out workshop and urge you to contact us directly on hello@edinburghtoollibrary.org.uk if you would like to discuss specific requirements or need any help to plan your visit.
Within the workshop space we have a number of aids set up to help improvement the quality of your time spent with us. These include; a hearing loop, gripping aids and height adjustable bench seats.
Support workers and personal assistants are welcome to attend

- How do we find out what we are making each week>
We will send you out an email on Monday. This will include a reminder of some useful information as well as some info about what we are making and who we are making it for.
Some weeks we will be finishing off what was started last week. Others, we will be starting something new
