50th Celebration - Christchurch 1974 Commonwealth Games

It's been 50 years already and it's time to celebrate one of New Zealand's greatest sporting events with all the people that made it the "Friendly Games".

A weekend of connection and celebration is planned for the 26th and 27th of January 2024.

Friday 26th January 2024 : Connect (5:00pm-8:00pm)
Evening drinks and nibbles at the iconic Christchurch Town Hall.

A chance to catch up with old and new friends and share stories and laughs.

Dress Code: Smart Casual

Saturday 27th January 2024 : Celebrate (5:00pm-11:00pm)
Time to celebrate the 50th in style at the beautiful Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre.

With a 1974 theme, enjoy a three-course evening dinner with friends as we look back at the great characters and memories from the Games. Led by some fantastic MC's, the evening will showcase all that was great about the event with entertainment, speakers & interviews along with video footage, music and photo archives. 

Dress Code: Cocktail dress/Suit & Tie/Blazer (we encourage relevant Games apparel also)
