Event description

A Very Crafty Christmas

Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre
Monday 22 December · 10:30am - 12:00pm

Take a creative pause right before Christmas and spend a gentle, joy-filled morning making art with the people you love. This family-friendly workshop offers a calm, welcoming space to gather with kids, grandkids, friends and loved ones - a little oasis away from the festive busy-ness.

All materials are provided as you are welcome to work at your own pace and make as much or as little as you like!

What We’ll Create

🎁 Art Bags
Paint your own artworks directly onto kraft gift bags. These become beautiful, reusable Art Bags that can be brought out year after year - a heartfelt family tradition - or a way to turn any gift into something truly special.

✨ Cards & Gift Tags
Explore water colour, metallic markers and festive motifs to make your own art cards, mini artworks and gift tags. Use them for gifting or keep them as decorations for your tree.

Who is this workshop for:

  • Suitable for adults, teens and children aged 6+

  • Children must attend with a supervising adult

  • No art experience needed — beginners are warmly welcomed

A Little Extra Christmas Magic

Emmie will have her camera on the day. If you’d like a family photo taken, she’s very happy to capture a sweet Christmas memory for you (optional and complimentary).

Your Teaching Artist: Emmie (Wild Learning)

Emmie has managed to combine a deep love of art, sewing, singing, flamingos and all things gold into a career as an artist, community arts worker and owner of creative studio Wild Learning. Her teaching style is big on generating creative energy and helping people find their own unique art experience. With a focus on a warm, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, absolute beginners and experienced creatives find Emmie's classes like a soft place to land in a world that sometimes feels too spikey.
