Enjoy a relax evening, & celebrate the Christmas season in the garden!

Ring in the 2026 Christmas season by joining us in the garden on Sunday, 6 December from 4-8pm for Christmas at Iranui Garden.

Tickets include:

  • Festive Self-Guided Garden Tour through the sustainably decorated one acre garden. Feel free to pack a picnic or simply sit around the fire pit and relax.

  • A visit to the Christmas Craft Hollow with gifts, ornaments, and other seasonal fare for sale

  • Seasonal Refreshments

Festive add-ons to make the evening more special:

  • Decorate your own Christmas wreath or yuletide-inspired swag with fresh, seasonal greenery and flowers from the garden. Wreath bases are premade from grapevine grown at Iranui Garden. We'll be on hand to help with assembly if needed.

  • Christmas ornament creation station - Kids of all ages will enjoy crafting sustainable, beautiful ornaments to decorate their own trees.

  • For the very first time, we will also have a limited amount of homegrown Christmas trees ready to harvest. Have a look around the trees, and take one home when you go! Trees are available on a first come-first served basis and are not available for pre-order.

FAQs

  • What is Iranui Garden?

Iranui Garden is a working permaculture homestead located in Pahiatua. Since 2021, we have worked hard to make the garden a productive, peaceful place to be. We pride ourselves on sustainable, organic practices, and we love to share our growing philosophy with others and encourage any questions you may have about the grounds.

When you visit, you'll see that we grow a variety of vegetables, flowers, and fruit. We even have a small pumpkin patch and a pick your own Christmas tree area! We love gardens that feel magical and a little bit wild and do our part for nature by using no-dig methods, establishing meadows, and planting for pollinators.

Please note when you visit, that the grounds may be uneven in places and caution is advised when walking around the property.

  • What's different about the garden at Christmas?

The garden is putting on its finest this Christmas and will be decorated for the season. We believe that celebrating the season should reflect our appreciation for sustainable design, and we've worked hard to bring natural, classic, handmade decor into the garden. You'll find no cheap, plastic Christmas decorations thrown up here.

Our all-original 1960s caravan will also be decorated for the season, and we invite you to take photos outside it or take a step back in time and pop inside for a retro Christmas inspiration.

  • Do I need a ticket?

Yes, all guests, including children, must have a ticket. Attendance to this event is limited to a small number, and the event will close when full. This ensures there is space for everyone to enjoy the garden and the events without feeling crowded.

Please purchase a tour ticket, and if you'd like to make a wreath, swag, or an ornament, add these activities on to your purchase.

  • Can I bring my children?

Children with a ticket are most welcome to attend but must be actively supervised. To make this event more family-friendly, a family discount is available.

  • Do you take Eftpos at the venue?

We will have some seasonal products and Christmas trees for sale on the day. We do not have Eftpos; cash is much appreciated, or bank transfer is also available.

  • Are pets allowed?

While we love dogs, we kindly ask that you leave your furry friend at home.

  • Do you accommodate dietary requirements?

Please send us a message if you have any dietary requirements, and we will be sure there is something delicious that suits your needs in the Christmas Grotto!

  • Will the event still go ahead if the weather is bad?

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held Sunday, 13 Dec.
