CICADAS The Sound of Summer
Event description
A ‘Drawing and More’ Workshop with Rachel Bunney for All ages, ADULTS and CHILDREN (children must be accompanied by an adult).
We will be meeting at 10.30am at the Eco Garden for a welcome, explore and nature walk.
Then in the cool (air-conditioned by solar power) Kariong Hall we will learn to make an origami cicada and find out what you already know about these very noisy creatures and Rachel will share how cicadas have been used in art and what they can symbolise. Then we will pull out our images and specimens for creating your artwork, (easy draw cicada instructions will be provided if you need them) as well as paper, graphite and coloured pencils.
PLEASE BRING:
Hardcopy Images of cicadas eg in a book from the library or printed photos
ALREADY dead specimens of cicadas if you can find them
YOUR SUNHAT, water and a snack.
Drawing materials will be available however you are welcome to bring your own if you like.
