Tambourine & Tarantella Workshop

with Ciccio Nucera and Josephine Paone

Step into the rhythm of Southern Italy with a lively, hands-on workshop led by Ciccio Nucera, musician and master of Calabrian tarantella traditions, and Josephine Paone, traditional tarantella dancer and cultural practitioner.

Participants will be introduced to the basic rhythms of the tambourine and the essential movements of traditional tarantella dance, discovering how music and movement come together in one of Southern Italy’s most vibrant cultural expressions.

The workshop is designed to be fun, participatory and suitable for beginners, with no previous musical or dance experience required. Whether you want to learn how to keep the rhythm, join the dance, or simply experience tarantella from the inside, this is a unique opportunity to learn directly from two passionate tradition-bearers.
