Cinematic Interview Workshop

This workshop will feature Mikon Haaksman of Haaksman Media as he presents the tools he uses, the techniques he has perfected, and other secrets gained over 25 years of shooting for various clients worldwide.

Who should attend?

Media professionals who want to broaden their skillset in the core production competence of shooting quality interviews and matching additional footage that adds to the story. This workshop will focus on smaller crewed productions emphasizing one-man band work, when this is the best approach, and when it is best to add crew and capability.

Mikons Bio:

Mikon Haaksman is a seasoned video professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry. He is the Director of Photography and Producer at Haaksman Media, a Dallas-based award-winning video production company specializing in documentaries, docu-follow television programs, and commercials. 

Originally from the Netherlands, Mikon moved to the United States at a young age. He pursued his passion for film by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film from the University of Oklahoma and furthered his studies at the London Film School.After completing his education, he worked in the Los Angeles film industry for nearly a decade. Following industry strikes in the early 2000s, he transitioned to corporate video production in Houston before eventually establishing Haaksman Media in Dallas in 2012. 

Haaksman Media offers full-service video production solutions and freelance cinematography services for television, documentaries, and commercials. The company has collaborated with notable clients such as the Dallas Cowboys, Jack Daniels, HBO, CNN, NBC, Fox, Discovery Channel, BBC, and National Geographic. Mikon is also a licensed aerial cinematographer who provides drone services for various projects. Beyond his production work, Mikon shares his industry knowledge on his YouTube channel, covering topics from the business of freelance video production to current trends and cinematography breakdowns.
