Circle of Security Classroom Approach 1 day Intensive (Online)

Event description

In this one day intensive, early care professionals will learn how to understand and respond to children's needs, and how to create a secure base for children in their care. This program aimed at enhancing attachment and relationships in early care settings, is ideal for educators wanting to create emotionally supportive environments for all children.

The Circle of Security Classroom (COSC) Approach is designed to enhance teachers’ abilities to form secure relationships, and offers critical organising principles from attachment theory to improve teacher confidence and competence in relationship building. This, in turn, fosters strong secure teacher-student relationships, and ultimately, student learning.

Circle of Security Classroom is intended for early childhood teachers and educators working with children from birth to 6 years of age. It supports educators to look beyond behavioural approaches to see the ways attachment needs are communicated by behaviours. The importance of the teacher as an attachment figure in responding to these needs is highlighted through reflection questions and handouts created specifically for early care professionals.

For teachers, this course aligns with the Professional Standards 4.1, 4.3, 6.2, 6.3, 7.3, 7.4 at a Proficient Teacher Level

For early childhood educators, this course is for individuals wanting to excel in NQS 5 - Relationships with Children

This course aligns with the Queensland Kindy Uplift funding priority area 2 Social and Emotional Learning.

The program is supported by the Victorian School Readiness Funding.

Please note there are no refunds available. If you are unable to make the workshop please contact us prior so we can discuss allocating a different date and time.
