Stronger Together: Supporting Community-Based Nonprofits in a Time of Crisis (CircleUp DMV)

Community-based nonprofits are under pressure as never before, facing steep cuts in funding, rising demand for services, threats to the people they serve, and profound economic, social, and legal uncertainty. 

CircleUp DMV 2025 will bring together giving circles, and other funders, local nonprofits, and anyone interested in collective giving or community action, to learn how the current crisis is affecting nonprofits in our region and how we can support them.  

The evening will open with a panel discussion with nonprofit leaders focusing on how the new political climate affects their communities and their work. Following the panel, we’ll gather in breakout groups to talk about how we can strengthen our support for community-based organizations through grantmaking, capacity building, member and public education, advocacy, and more. 

This is a powerful opportunity for giving circle members and the community at large to learn, network, and celebrate the power of collective giving in conjunction with Philanthropy Together’s We Give Summit, May 13-15.
