Event description

Our guest speaker: Ellen MacArthur Foundation

To introduce our Circular Economy Leaders Conference, we will have the privilege to welcome the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is a not-for-profit charity based in the United Kingdom formed in 2010 by retired English sailboat racer Ellen MacArthur.

The Foundation works around the world in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America and has a United States affiliated foundation.

MacArthur created the Foundation “to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.”

James George, the Management Lead from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, will be our guest speaker.

As part of the business team at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, James' role is to engage with the broad business community for Ellen MacArthur Foundation and stimulate holistic network development across all levels and programmes.

Working with team leads and Executive Leads, James influences the Ellen MacArthur Foundation Network Strategy, develops pursuit strategies and looks for opportunities for collaboration with the Foundation. He spots opportunities for organisations to advance the transition to a circular economy.

Circular Economy Leaders Conference

Transitioning to a circular economy will not only reduce waste, make better use of our resources and benefit our environment for future generations, it is also an important driver of new jobs and economic growth.

We will explore where Australian businesses up to in the transition to a circular economy? What are their motivations, challenges and bottlenecks and the pace of progress?

Our panel will include large businesses in various sectors, and we will hear from them about the differing challenges and waste streams they are working with, and how they are working to bring about more circularity in their business practices and systems.
