    Event description

This is an Expression of Interest (EOI) only.

The ReCreators have partnered with the WE (Womens Empowerment) Collective programme.  This is an initiative by Shama Ethnic Women's Trust to support ethnic women into income via business ownership. Our collaboration is supported by The Ministry for Ethnic Communities.

The programme is specifically designed to train former refugees and women in upcycling techniques. Our aim is to equip women with the skills and knowledge they need to turn reclaimed materials (wood, textiles and other materials) into unique creations and build sustainable businesses. Through this program, we seek to promote creative entrepreneurship among these women while also advancing environmental sustainability.

The program specifically targets women aged 18 + who have a former refugee or migrant background. We aim to support women who are facing challenges in finding flexible work and income opportunities in New Zealand.

The program spans over 10 weeks, combining practical hands-on sessions, expert mentoring, and business-focused guidance. With a focus on crafts and creative upcycling, we provide a supportive and inspiring environment where you can learn, grow, and thrive.
