Citizen Science - EASL PD

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Citizen science is a great way for the community to increase knowledge by collecting data for scientific research projects. You don’t need to be a scientist to be involved in citizen science.

To learn more, come along to this online workshop where we will showcase local and national projects and how they connect to the curriculum across all years to model and encourage great science learning.

In this collaboration between Deakin University and EASL: Sylvia Fogarty-Phipps will present her recent research on four Surf Coast Shire based citizen science projects and Drs. Peta White and Annette Anderson will share case studies and curriculum connections.

September is National Biodiversity Month and there are many citizen science projects that offer a chance to collect data and learn more about our local biodiversity.

A range of resources and links will be available after the session. Attendees will receive a Certificate meeting professional development requirements set by VIT registration.
