Event description

IMPORTANT: This workshop is limited to residents living in North Sydney LGA only. Proof of residence is required upon entry.

Dehydrating is the oldest method of food preservation and it’s a great way to store foods for later use.

You can easily make dried fruits, vegetables, herbs and teas at home for a fraction of the store-bought price. You don’t even need to buy a food dehydrator because you can borrow one the from The Sydney Library of Things.

In this workshop you’ll learn how to turn excess (or cheap in-season) produce into nutritious snacks and personal gifts.

You’ll be shown the tools you need and how to slice and prepare selected fruits and vegetables for drying. You’ll also learn how to make vegetable powders and how to store your delicious treats.

Plus…. there’ll be some yummy tastings.
